well pleased.
I don’t appreciate Peter Pan syndrome because I’ve been waiting for so gddamn long to become an adult that I relish being one. “I want to protect my little child” = child wanting to bust out at every possible opportunity.
I’d like to say that being an adult gives a feeling of entitlement: “I can do the fck I want, given the resources available to me. I can handle you calling me Selfish or whatever expletive you hurl my way, because I am living through my own efforts and you have no fcking say in what I do.”
Mind you, the cost of this entitled feeling requires money and emotions. Not pleasant, but frees you from family guilt! But, this doesn’t stop the eye rolling. Lol.
In other news, while some folks may be disappointed at me for whatever personal issues they want to project onto me (cue more eyerolling), I for sure am pleased about my decision to give bookkeeping a try, and I’ve already paid for my first class starting in January. I’ve finally given up my upper middle-class upbringing fantasies of barista/bookstore clerks…not like in the movies/TV shows, kthx. Now, it is a means to an end.
Geez, I might as well start wearing buttoned-up cardigans and boxy knee-length skirts and become a cat lady or something.
